As well as competing in motorsport events we also marshal at them!  How would you like to get closer than any spectator ever could?  Become a marshal and you can find yourself pushing rally cars out of a ditch, issuing clues at a Nav Rally or timing competitors at an autotest.  GUMSC provides basic marshal training for all members but if you want to get seriously involved then you can attend one of the MSA Marshal Courses run throughout the year and gain an nationally recognised qualification.
The most famous event GUMSC marshal at is the Highland Car Club Snowman Rally.  Held on forest trails near Inverness this is a professional rally forming part of the Scottish Rally Championship.  Marshalling at this event is a pilgrimage for all GUMSC members.  We organise a minibus leaving on the Friday and returning on the Sunday with the Rally taking place on the Saturday.  The Snowman Rally is usually held mid February.
